My local synagogue is lovely and small and intentional in so many ways. Gathering in community and feeding people does generate waste, and this is an active topic of conversation.

To help reduce our impact, here is a series of tablecloths done for Shabbat dinners at Nehar Shalom, a Jamaica Plain community synagogue, to replace using paper ones.
